The dress code stated “a touch of gold” and over 200 guests enjoyed a glittering launch party to celebrate the official opening of Anantara The Marker Dublin Hotel in Dublin’s Docklands.

The event was hosted by Michael Davern, General Manager of Anantara The Marker Dublin Hotel and Executive Chef, Gareth Mullins. Setting the scene: Irish wolfhounds wearing big gold bows were outside the main door as guests arrived. Inside a string quartet created a Bridgerton-inspired vibe, as guests were offered Bollinger champagne and gold leaf cocktails.

Special guests in attendance included the brother of the Chairman and Founder of Minor Hotels and Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, Skip Heinecke and his wife Kathleen who officially cut the ribbon to launch the hotel alongside Michael Davern and Lorraine Keane.

Famous faces spotted at the launch included multi-Oscar nominated film maker, Jim Sheridan, broadcasters Pat Kenny and Maia Dunphy, influencers and fashionistas Marietta Doran and Celia Holman Lee, former RTÉ presenter, Mary Kennedy, fashion designer Deborah Veale and RTÉ broadcaster, Sharon Ní Bheoláin.

As the party unfolded, DJ Mo Kelly and saxophonist, Natalia, entertained the guests as they enjoyed a culinary journey at various grazing stations. Delicacies included John Stone Dry Aged Irish Beef aged with Teelings Whiskey, hand shucked Flaggy Shore oysters, as well as sweet treats. Camilla Coburn Davis, Director of PR for Anantara Europe presented 13 vouchers to some lucky guests who won weekend breaks in other Anantara destinations including Amalfi, Nice, Rome, Budapest, Amsterdam, Vilamoura and Marbella.

MC Lorraine Keane also introduced various Anantara The Marker Dublin gurus including the Spa and Wellness Director, Bodina Quereshi, and Director of People and Culture, Claire Robert who spoke about some luxurious new experiences which have been introduced. These include private dining on the rooftop (called “Breakfast by Design”), a private sailing and cookery lesson (called “Spice Spoons”) as well as private rooftop yoga and wild swimming sessions.

Since Anantara took over the former Marker Hotel, all of the 187 bedrooms have been renovated. In addition, the bar and public areas have been reimagined and a brand-new restaurant “Forbes Street by Gareth Mullins” will open in the coming weeks. For more information visit www.anantara.com
