Contemporary Christmas celebrations often take place in lovely luxury hotels – chic backdrops for present swapping with family, drinks with colleagues, or catch-ups with friends over a festive afternoon tea. And at The Merrion, Christmas is particularly atmospheric in its elegant Georgian dining and drawing rooms.
Each year the hotel hosts a special family get together during which friends of the hotel and their children meet Santa and Mrs Claus, take carriage rides around Merrion Square, and enjoy a leisurely breakfast with seasonal sweet and savoury treats prepared by Executive Chef Ed Cooney and his team. This year was no exception with guests, including Rosanna Davison, Rosalind Lipsett and Claire Byrne, all agreeing it was the perfect start to Christmas week.
