Celebrating one of Ireland’s most beloved entertainers …
On April 22, hundreds gathered at Newbridge Silverware in Kildare to welcome Daniel O’Donnell and his wife Majella as they officially opened a new exhibition in the Museum of Style Icons. Titled “Daniel & Majella O’Donnell – Music, Style & Memories,” the exhibition offers an intimate look into the couple’s life together, as well as Daniel’s decades-long career in music and entertainment.
The exhibition features a curated collection of stage-worn costumes, memorabilia and personal accessories – including their wedding attire – that chart Daniel’s journey from humble beginnings to international stardom, offering visitors a rare glimpse into cherished private moments. It not only celebrates Daniel’s musical legacy, but also showcases the couple’s enduring partnership and influence on Irish popular culture. Through photographs, storytelling and artefacts, visitors are invited to step into their world, which will now become part of the Museum of Style Icons’ permanent exhibition as a unique tribute for years to come.
The event was marked by a warm reception, with dedicated fans travelling from across Ireland and beyond for the opportunity to meet the couple. Daniel expressed his gratitude for their continued support, while Majella added that sharing these personal pieces was a meaningful way to connect with the people who have followed them throughout the years. Daniel took to the stage to the great thrill of the crowd and sang several of his biggest hits.
