All for a good cause …
Breast Cancer Ireland’s fourth annual Race for a Cure Race Day, sponsored by Porsche Ireland, returned to Leopardstown Racecourse in Dublin in spectacular fashion this season.
The sold-out event welcomed approximately 400 guests from across industries to support Breast Cancer Ireland’s life-saving research, education and awareness programmes. RTÉ broadcaster Miriam O’Callaghan guided the day’s proceedings, while racing enthusiasts were treated to expert tips from experienced Racing Tipster Kevin O’Ryan, adding to the excitement trackside.
Guests enjoyed a three-course lunch before the ever-popular Best Dressed competition, judged by Breast Cancer Ireland Ambassador Elaine Crowley and menswear expert James Kelly of Louis Copeland & Sons. Denise Ashe won a €1,000 luxury experience at Frascati Centre in Blackrock, Dublin, while Fayyaz Sharif won a €1,000 voucher for a bespoke suit. A special ‘balloon pop’ revealed another winner in Paula McClean, who won Paul Sheeran diamond earrings valued at almost €2,000.
Renowned auctioneer Tadgh Dooley of Goffs then led an auction offering exclusive prizes including a trip to New York, a 5 star stay in Cashel Palace, Monza Grand Prix tickets and the chance to see Harry Styles in Wembley, London, which raised an impressive €35,000. In total, the event is estimated to have raised over €170,000 to directly support Breast Cancer Ireland.
