Claire-Laurence Mestrallet, director of jewellery and watches at Adam’s, selects some of her favourite lots from the upcoming Fine Jewellery auction …

Lot 4: Tiffany & Co Diamond “Victoria” line bracelet
This is composed of a continuous line of brilliant-cut diamonds within a claw setting, finished with a marquise-cut diamond cluster. The estimate: €2,000 to €3,000. For context, a similar bracelet at Tiffany & Co now retails for €34,000!

Lot 31: mid-19th century diamond hair ornament
This tortoiseshell hair comb from the 19th century is set with a series of cushion- and rose-cut diamonds, approximately 7.00cts. The perfect gift for a wedding or another special occasion. The estimate: €8,000 to €9,000.

Lot 45: Art Deco aquamarine and diamond cocktail ring
The Art Deco rectangular-cut aquamarine weighs approximately 30.00cts. The colour and size really stands out. Aquamarines have become so popular in the last few years, particularly since Meghan Markle wore Diana’s at her wedding party. Estimate: €7,000 to €9,000.

Lot 72: A diamond “Toi et Moi” dress dring and pair of diamond earrings
This is an ingenious lot – the ‘toi et moi’ diamond ring can be unscrewed to create a beautiful pair of diamond pendant earrings of 1.00ct each! The diamonds are each 3.00cts and are lab certified. Estimate: €50,000 to €60,000.

Lot 83: Georges Lenfant for OJ Perrin
This OJ Perrin bi-coloured bracelet has been made by Georges Lenfant – it’s a truly collectible piece for connoisseurs, with beautiful craftmanship. This piece will hold its value as gold keeps increasing, so it’s a real investment commodity. Estimate: €12,000 to €14,000.

Lot 92: Bulgari Gold and Steel Bangle
Bulgari is the hottest jeweller at auction at the moment, along with Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels. Its value at auction has more than doubled in the last decade and I suspect will keep increasing. Estimate: €2,500 to €3,500.

Lot 122: Hermès Diamond Kelly Chain Double Bracelet, 2023
This Hermès diamond double chain bracelet can also be worn as a necklace. Its current value at Hermès is €10,500! It’s in mint condition, and comes with its box and papers – making it the perfect Christmas gift. Estimate: €3,500 to €4,500.

Lot 168: Cartier emerald, diamond and onyx Panthère Jabot Pin, c 2005
The famous Cartier panther jabot pin is a real showstopper. It comes with its certificate, box and is fully authenticated. Estimate: €8,000 to €12,000.

Lot 169: Cartier diamond and emerald Panthère dress ring
Estimate: €18,000 to 22,000.

Lot 181: Diamond earrings
This polished hoop suspended in a tapered diamond, set in an oxidised claw set with collet mount. Estimate: €1,000 to €1,500.

Lot 182: Sapphire dress ring
Of a Georgian style, this elongated cushion-shaped sapphire weighs 6.42 cts in a claw setting. Both lots 181 and 182 remind me of contemporary Jessica McCormack pieces, which also take their inspiration from the Georgian era. The sapphire has a lab certificate confirming its Sri Lankan origin and that it has no colour treatment. Estimate: €6,000 to €7,000.
