The mornings are getting crisper, the leaves are falling and the tonal, earthy hues of early autumn mark the change in season. It’s a gorgeous time of year, and the natural time to re-set our seasonal style and re-vamp our wardrobes with a few beautiful pieces. Choose a Mood-Boosting Coat
Start by choosing a mood-boosting coat or blazer. Graphic heritage prints (including Prince of Wales check), herringbone and houndstooth blazers and coats are smart and uplifting. Monochromatic looks are made modern with a sharp injection of hot red. Soft leather pull-on boots and bags with brass hardware finishes are equestrian inspired, lending to the heritage feel of the collection. THE GLOSS team’s favourite coats? It’s hard to choose! The Robbi lightweight trench coat is a contemporary classic and a useful addition to any wardrobe. The Lillan quilted coat is perfect for walks and winter outings, and puffer coats come in gorgeous styles and colours. For work and events, we are drawn to the Rose wool wrap coat in emerald and the Hadleya oversized belted peacoat – so chic. The Liliam faux fur jacket will be hard to resist too. Floral Flourishes
From full-on brilliant blooms to faint leafy influences, everything from relaxed tailoring to dresses and outerwear comes with a floral flourish. Art-nouveau inspired floral dresses and tops combine wearability and sophistication. Integral to the Ted Baker brand DNA, these art-nouveau inspired hand-drawn motifs reference the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the beginnings of Ted Baker in Glasgow. Elsewhere, a more modern offset ‘glitched’ pattern punctuates slightly sheer textural mesh dresses and off-the-shoulder Bardot styles with midi hems.

As well as the Eloisi Bardot-style pink and white print dress with ruffle skirt, we love the cool winter florals: the super-elegant Pierree jaquard evening blazer and matching trousers in silvery-green eau de nil and the black and red high-neck Coriey dress, gorgeous with boots and a leather biker, well, that’s how we’d wear it.
