Hildun’s latest beauty collection is out now …
The new Hildun x Hannah Martin collection, Lumière Capturée (captured light), stands out for summer. We predict a scramble for the brand-new liquid highlighter, Peptide Pearl Balm, €22. This is a silky-smooth, never-sticky balm formula that’s enveloped with micro-pearls to deliver hydration and a lasting reflective glow. Three shades, from pale pink to soft bronze, deliver a soft shimmering finish that catches the light, whether you wear it in the daytime or evening. The collection also brings back Hildun’s sell-out Silk to Set Kajal Liner in Spiced Pecan, a shimmering warm brown shade infused with copper and silver pearls.
UK make-up artist Hannah Martin has 20 years’ experience, working with everyone from Helen Mirren, Hannah Waddingham and Nadiya Hussain, as well as Kate Middleton’s wedding make-up.
We asked her to tell us more about her latest collaboration with Irish beauty brand Hildun …
Tell us about the Peptide Pearl Balms – and what are your tips for how best to use them?
“The Peptide Pearl Balms actually took two years to perfect. We changed manufacturers as we felt the finish on the lips could be smoother and longer lasting, and we are so happy we did! They are the most beautiful Italian-made balms, a bespoke formula infused with micro pearls that delivers a reflective glow, while also maintaining moisture levels in your lips. In terms of application, they pair beautifully with the other Hildun lip products. I would encourage people to mix and match them with the Silk to Set Longwear Lip Pencils or Melting Moisture Balms. Currently, I’m loving Sara lip pencil with Mauve Glow melting balm, and Starr Peptide Pearl Balm layered on top for a super-chic bronze nude lip. The Peptide Pearl Balms add a 3D dimension finish to your lip combo, and also leave your lips feeling smooth and hydrated for hours.”
How are your clients wearing eyeliner this season?
“This season, I’ll be adding Spiced Pecan back into my kit and I just know my clients are going to be so excited to see its return. It will be smoked-out for a sexy shimmer all over the eyes, and smudged into the bottom lashes for extra dimension and super-chic finish to the eyes. I’ve seen a move away from black to brown in recent years and now, more than ever, a willingness from all ages to experiment with jewel-coloured tones.”
For anyone who has yet to try Hildun eyeliner, what makes them so special?
“Anyone who hasn’t tried one needs to rectify that immediately! They are the creamiest, easiest to apply liners you could ever dream of. Their ultra high-pigment formula means a little goes a long way and they literally glide onto the eyes effortlessly, like silk as the name suggests, no tugging ever. But what’s really amazing is that once they set, they stay in place – they don’t budge. They also come in ten shades now, something to suit every colour and look.”
The Lumière Capturée Collection is available in stores and at hildunbeauty.com or online exclusively at Arnotts.
