Ballet flats were everywhere for summer. And, if you invested in a pair, then you’d like to get some mileage out of yours. Here are three ways to wear for September that will ensure they have longevity …

Pair your flats with the perfect transeasonal item, a cashmere sweater vest. Accessorise with a sleek leather belt and a chunky gold bracelet, as seen on Jessie Bush (pictured).
If you’re ahead of the curve and you’ve already sorted a great autumn jacket like a trench or a shacket, we say: kudos! It’s the perfect foil for a pair of Mary Janes (which were possibly the key shoe of the summer season). Instead of cropped trousers, go for a longer length that puddles around your shoe (preferably in a dark colour to hide any scuffs).
A pair of simple black ballet flats, tailored trousers and a good knit is an ultra-wearable outfit idea that will make your flats last long into September. Take advantage of the transitional weather and work the look before the temperature drops and bare feet will be a no-go!
