Leather sandals with thong detailing are firmly in favour for summer, and we can see why: the minimalist shape looks luxurious and goes with everything. This pair, pictured, is a cult favourite by The Row but we’ll be scouting out similar versions at Marks & Spencer, Tommy Hilfiger and Arket.

Is there anything cooler than a simple T-shirt and jeans? We love how tastemaker Laura Vidrequin Roso combines straight-leg Levi’s with a pair of toffee brown suede loafers.

Speaking of white, a broderie anglaise two piece, featuring an on-trend waistcoat, is a dream summer holiday addition.

According to the latest TikTok trend #gardengirl, bucolic buys such as dreamy dresses, floaty fabrics and romantic blouses, paired with practical finishing touches such as Birkenstocks, Crocs and utility jackets (shop an edit of our favourites here), are trending. We say: California brand DĂ´en, which has just landed at Seagreen, is a go-to for this look.

On a contrasting note, a suede trench that trails towards the floor is a simple but luxurious addition to a capsule wardrobe. This one, pictured, is by British label Raey, but alternatives can be found at Zara, Next and French label Musier.

We’ve long admired the style of influencer Alice Moireau and this off-duty look makes us even more enthused about the stick-of-butter-dressing trend (that is, dressing head to toe in shades of palest yellow).

An unexpected pop of red is always an interesting addition to an outfit. Team a zinging pair of red shoes with an all-black ensemble, a denim look, or a simple white sundress when the mercury rises.

Now’s the time to embrace joyous summer stripes! Whether you opt for a pair of skinny striped linen trousers, bold striped jeans or a cropped jacket that walks the line, don’t shy away from making a statement by playing with different sized patterns or, indeed, bright colours. Oftentimes, a statement trouser can leave you wondering what shoes to wear, so we love the addition of a buckled ballet flat, pictured here.

Suede bags are having a moment and we love the idea of a grey one (more novel than black or chocolate brown) paired with an outfit full of elevated essentials such as white jeans, a simple trench coat and black ballerinas.

White full cotton skirt, waistcoat, basket bag: this look nails summer in an outfit. We’ll be seeking out a similar version for our seasonal repertoire, alternating between ballet flats and a great pair of sandals (shop a rundown of the sandal trends to know here).
