10 Back-To-Office Outfit Ideas That Are Ultra Appealing

Forget power suits – it’s all about polished basics and louche tailoring for the return to the office …

As the return to the workplace is rolled out, working from sweatpants and baggy knits is no longer an option for most of us. And, while we have been reintroducing structure and formality into our looks over the past while, the idea of a full blown return to office attire is still a bit daunting. The overriding message from stylish folk we admire? Opt for fewer pieces, but more investment ones, err on the side of neutrals and don’t be afraid to be a bit fluid in your styling. For instance, there’s nothing more chic right now than a structured blazer or a pair of wide-leg pants combined with more-casual trainers. If you do verge into suiting, a slouchy silhouette is key – it instantly grants your look a cooler, informal edge. Our motto? No one is expecting you to channel Tess McGill’s shoulder pads and power suits anytime soon – so ease yourself into this new normal with comfortable but polished basics.

Don’t fear leggings: a luxe pair of leggings can work for the office. Upgrade the style to office-appropriate with a structured blazer and a sharp pair of boots.

A poplin blouse and wide-leg combination screams effortless chic.

Don’t be afraid of suiting: a slouchy fit will ensure you look contemporary.

Wide-leg trousers are a veritable office hero. Make them less formal by pairing them with your favourite (super clean) trainers and add a leather belt.

Now’s the time for a reintrodution to ankle boots. A pair of block-heel boots in camel or high shine black will serve you looks, time and time again. The best way to wear? Ensure your trouser length is nicely cropped, cutting off just after the top of the boot.

Don’t underestimate the power of leather to make you feel a bit ‘done’. A vegan leather shirt is our current favourite go-to.

We can’t stop looking at this check blazer/jeans/chunky loafer combination: smart and super comfy.

Jazz up a non-traditional white shirt with pearls.

Stripes and a trusty tote bag for the win.

A bouclé jacket hides a multitude of sins including rushed makeup, unstyled hair and an otherwise casual outfit.
