You can now shop pre-loved pieces on your next trip to Penneys …
In a boon for circular fashion, Penneys has opened a vintage concession in its Mary Street store, the first of its kind in Ireland. Customers can now shop vintage and one-off items of clothing by independent vintage seller WornWell by the Vintage Wholesale Company, alongside the regular Penneys offering in store. It’s a model that’s already been rolled out at Primark stores in Oxford Street, Bristol and Manchester before coming to Dublin.
What’s on sale? A mix of branded and non-branded vintage and one-off items. Pieces will nod to the current trend for nostalgia, stocking pieces from the 1970s through to the 1990s, including denim jumpsuits and shirts, as well as printed pattern shirts and jacket of the moment, the puffer. While the items won’t all be designer vintage, brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, Converse, Levi, and Dr. Martens have all been name-checked.
Feeling inspired to shop circular fashion? Rent your next going out look instead of buying it (try Happy Days or Rent It! at Brown Thomas). On the flip side, give the clothes you no longer wear a new lease of life by doing a closet clear out and donating the pieces you no longer wear to a good cause. The Give Up Clothes For Good campaign at TK Maxx raises vital funds for Enable Ireland. Watch style influencer Courtney Smith’s anti-haul video below to get you inspired.
