What to Watch on Netflix this February

Now’s a good time to have friends over for a TV day. From crime, to comedy, to Kanye – here are four things to watch this month on Netflix

1 Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy

Hes in our headlines and his beats in our heads: Kanye West is more of a concept than a man. Each album or fashion line of his is such a major work, and each move of his is so well-documented, its actually surprising that he remains something of an enigma. So a documentary revealing a little bit more about the producer, rapper, musician and fashion CEO is welcome. Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy, presented in three acts, details Wests formative days trying to break through as well as his status and success today as a global brand and artist – and of course drew ire from the main subject recently. West took to Instagram just prior to the film’s Sundance premiere to demand directors Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah “open the edit room” for him to give his “final edit and approval.” If it was a play to drum up interest, it probably worked.

Watch the documentary series on Netflix from February 16.

2 Murderville

As I sincerely miss new episodes of Arrested Development, and his reprehensible fool of a character Gob, Will Arnetts new show Murderville sounds appealing! Senior Detective Terry Seattle, of the Homicide Division is played by Arnett, and deals with a new perplexing murder case every day (episode), as well as a new celebrity guest star as his partner. But heres the catch: each episode’s guest star isnt being given the script. They have no idea whats about to happen to them. Together, the guest star and Terry Seattle will have to improvise their way through the case… but it will be up to each celebrity guest alone to name the killer. Join them as they punch a one-way ticket to Murderville.

The six-episode procedural crime comedy premieres globally on Netflix on February 3.

3 Inventing Anna

In Inventing Anna, a journalist with a lot to prove investigates the case of Anna Delvey, the Instagram-legendary German heiress who stole the hearts of New York’s social scene – and stole their money as well.  Written by Shonda Rhimes of Grey’s Anatomy, and starring Julia Garner and Laverne Cox, Inventing Anna questions whether Delvey was just a con-woman on a winning streak, or the portrait of the new American dream. The series is inspired by the New York Magazine article “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People” by Jessica Pressler.

Watch from February 11, on Netflix.

4 Space Force, Season 2

Space Force Season 1 feels like it happened so long ago. We were introduced to a new kind of Steve Carell character-in-charge – serious and stuck-in-the-mud –, a tongue-in-cheek take on the federal team sprung from the creative brain Donald Trump, and the actress Diana Silvers as his wayward daughter, who has since become something of an Instragam sensation. Season 2 of Space Force picks up with General Naird and the underdog Space Force team having to prove their worth to a new administration while dealing with interpersonal challenges.

Catch up before it comes out on February 18, on Netflix.
