Dress up to stay in! That’s the message from Tommy Hilfiger this Christmas, a Christmas like no other in history – but still one to celebrate with absolute joy and even more enthusiasm than ever. And beautiful clothes! …
With travel and large family gatherings no longer an option for many, Tommy Hilfiger is celebrating how we are all doing things differently this year, channelling the holiday spirit and creating new traditions. We may not be going out to paint the town red. But we are enjoying the prospect of dressing up for small gatherings, in our own social bubble, and very special occasions, using what we wear to help get us into party mode. The sheer pleasure of choosing something new and getting dressed up is one we really have missed.
To get us in the mood, the 2020 TOMMY HILFIGER Holiday campaign features interesting and inspiring models and influencers, photographed in their own homes, including Candace Reels, self-love advocate and Female Collective founder, in Los Angeles, Renée Stewart, dancer, yoga and meditation teacher in London, Adam Kenworthy, chef, content creator, sustainability and mindfulness advocate in New York City, and entrepreneur and model Ty Ogunkoya with partner vlogger, Billie Brown and their two-year-old son Tayo, in Kent. It’s just another step on Tommy Hilfiger’s journey to redefine how fashion should be shown, celebrating and proudly portraying people from a variety of backgrounds, sizes, ages, gender expressions and ethnicities. And they’re all ready to enjoy a special Christmas season, whether with family or friends – those people they know will make them feel all is almost right with the world again, as we celebrate getting through together.
“My new tradition this year is choosing to spend the holidays with friends,” said Candace Reels. “It’s so important to consciously spend your time with people that make you feel good and lift you up. Our time is precious. We should spend it with the people we love, and make the most out of every day, every minute, every moment.”
It’s a sentiment echoed by everyone else featured – spending the holidays in a happy social bubble is where it’s at this year. Getting dressed up is a key part of the proceedings – and you don’t need to sacrifice style for comfort (the comfort we have all gotten used to!) either.
The 2020 TOMMY HILFIGER Holiday collection includes a range of low-key festive and comfortable (but very glamorous) holiday styles, the perfect clothes for dressing up to stay in. For the main event, womenswear party looks include the black wrap dress, and chic grey tailored trousers and blazer in the TH monogram print. For the days before and after Christmas, a camel jumper and denim pants, deep rouge turtleneck and leather skirt, or a comfy pyjama set add a cosy, cocooning twist to lower-key celebrations. Shoes and accessories include the mini and original turn-lock crossover bags, mini saddle-bag with star details and knockout gold high-heeled pumps. Whether your kitchen island becomes the bar, and your dining table doubles for a happy night out at a restaurant, the collection is about feeling festive, polished and dressed up, with the luxury of being happily anchored at home.
This season, men can dress up for holiday dinner too, in the slim peak-lapel tuxedo, or one of a range of slim-fit suits, with tuxedo shirt, velvet bowtie and silk pocket square, or soft cashmere roll-neck. Men’s footwear and accessories include derby shoes, casual dress shoes, braided metal bracelets and the smart matte grey sunray dial watch.
The collection will be available in Ireland on tommy.com, and in TOMMY HILFIGER stores.
