The Clean-fluencers To Follow For Spring Cleaning Tips

If 2023 is your year of getting organised, here are some Clean-fluencers to follow online

Search “CleanTok” on TikTok and you’ll instantly be presented with all manner of cleaning hacks, from stop-start videos filling “aesthetically pleasing” colour-coordinated fridges, to tips on how to clean your sofa (one method involves a microfibre cloth, dishwasher tablet, and the lid of a kitchen pot) and nuggets of cleaning information like why you should use white vinegar when washing your towels to keep them soft and fluffy. On the app, thousands of users share their “weekly reset” (essentially the chores they complete on Sundays such as changing the bed, decluttering living spaces, sorting laundry) seemingly dull content, but somehow the hashtag has amassed over 180 million views. If 2023 is your year of getting organised, here are some Clean-fluencers to follow online.

1. The original Clean-fluencer, SOPHIE HINCHCLIFFE has over four million followers on Instagram who follow her cleaning (“hinching”), organising, list-making, renovating and more from her new base at Hinch Home in Essex (complete with utility room that looks bigger than some onebedroom apartments). @MrsHinchHome on Instagram.

2. As well as sharing DIY tips with followers, LAURA DE BARRA, aka the Gaff Goddess, also explains seemingly simple cleaning processes, like how to clean your washing machine, that garner thousands of views. De Barra also has a very handy thread pinned on her Twitter titled “20 things you can do while kettle boils that your home will thank you for” which range from “remove cooker hood grease filter and give it a wash” to “change that downlighter bulb you’ve been putting off forever”. @LauradeBarra  on Instagram.

3. With almost 300k followers on Instagram, LYNSEY CROMBIE has produced a book as well as a product range and is a regular contributor on This Morning. She shares tips and tools for transforming your space, one clean appliance at a time. @lynsey_queenofclean on Instagram.

4. As a self-confessed “accidental cleaning expert”, MELISSA MAKER of @cleanmyspace admits that she hates cleaning but has spent over a decade figuring out the most efficient and effective ways to “get the job done right the first time”. Over two million followers on Youtube watch her videos on topics like “21 Cleaning Hacks That Will Blow Your Mind!” and “10 Cleaning Habits That Changed My Life”. @cleanmyspace on Youtube.

5. Clean with KAYLEIGH on TikTok, who wears cleaning slippers with microfibre soles from The Range, shares endless videos of her tidying the living room, deep-cleaning kitchen appliances, and using pet-friendly cleaning products, with her two million followers. @cleanwith_kayleigh on TikTok.

6. If you loved The Home Edit on Netflix, follow GEMMA AND CHARLOTTE @stylesisters on Instagram. With a passion for organisation, the duo transform pantries, wardrobes and drawers for celebrities like Vogue Williams, Jamie Oliver and Rita Ora, and share their tips online so you can implement some of their processes too.
