Architects Ailish Walker and Róisín Power have experience of different facets of architectural practice but share a love for clean, contemporary, holistic design. Until 2022, when they joined forces as ARÓ Architects, Ailish managed a range of large-scale projects as an associate in Henry J Lyons for eight years, while Róisín worked in the Office of Public Works, and then in the high-end residential office of DMVF Architects. “With our varied backgrounds and broad skill sets, we offer a tailored service for our clients, working from initial design concept stages through to project completion,” says Róisín. Their portfolio offers both architecture and interior services. “The goal for our company in 2023 is to expand into the fit-out industry and deliver larger residential projects,” says Ailish. www.aroarchitects.ie.

ARO’s first project was the total transformation of a corner shop in Chapelizod, Co Dublin into an artisan deli. The inspiration for the design came from traditional Italian grocers. Image; Gill O’Connell.

The complete renovation and extension of a 1930s semi-detached home, in Greystones, Co Wicklow, has a strong minimalist theme throughout, which creates a sense of calm and spaciousness.
