Adding colour is one of the simplest ways to revitalise your kitchen. With new light coming in at earlier hours of the morning and with it hanging on until later at night – we can grow tired of the duller (often safer) colours we have previously used in our kitchens. Luckily, a transformation is as easy as a paint job (whether you go for the whole room, a statement wall or settle for painting cabinets only) or including a piece of standing furniture or beautifully designed tiles on a splashback or worktop space. Kitchens can evolve – why not give a bright summer colour a go this year? Opt for sunny yellow, powdered blue or bright green – these are the shades that are trending this year.
YELLOW

This sunshine yellow paired with the pistachio green shelf is guarenteed to make you smile. Accompanied by the brass tap and farmhouse sink – it is a space sure to charm you. @devolkitchens

This adorably quirky kitchen glows with its minimal yellow doors. The box island is simple but boasts an art-deco style – we love it. @sarah_jane
GREEN

This traditional kitchen is painted in Farrow & Ball’s Sap Green. It is a seriously fitting shade for a naturally lit kitchen, especially with the dark wooden panelling as a backdrop. It creates a natural, outdoorsy look for the space. www.farrow-ball.com

These homeowners have chosen a bold emerald green for their cabinetry with a subtle plywood frame surrounding it. The space feels bright and airy with the large skylight windows above the work space. @jdkitchens.ie
PINK

We cannot get enough of pink kitchens in 2023 but the colour really is that versatile. The handleless pale pink cabinetry in this well-lit room looks summery and stylish. @studio_isba

This kitchen is brought to life with a vibrant blend of natural bramble and pink tones. The colours infuse the compact space with character and energy. www.nakedkitchens.com
BLUE

The powdered blue shade oozes cool in this galley kitchen. The two sources of natural light falling in line with the cabinetry at the back of the room makes sure the blue keeps its cool for summer. @britishstandardcupboards

This Trinity Blue by Devol Kitchens is subtle but elevates this farmhouse style space. It is a charming colour for the warmer, longer days of summer. www.devolkitchens.co.uk
RED

The summer colour palette melts into elegant red. It is not a commonly used colour but it it adds class and quirk to your kitchen. This maroon is paired beautifully with this herringbone floor. www.neptune.com
PURPLE

This shade of Farrow & Ball Bingal is a striking, contrasting colour to the rest of the kitchen. It certainly adds personality to the room and makes the kitchen island an artistic feature. www.oconnorsofdrumleck.ie
