Whether you prefer to stay at home and have your food prepared for you, or venture out to somewhere special with a loved one, here are six ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day 2022 …
Valentine’s Day is about celebrating love in all shapes and forms, be it romantic love, self-love or platonic love. As for me, I shall be taking the opportunity to celebrate love – my love of food that is. Here are six places to do just that.

Note Dublin
This Valentine’s Day, for one night only, Note Dublin are teaming up with London based wine bar, P Franco. Expect a special collaborative wine list, a memorable snack menu while being serenaded by the musical choices of the two teams. The event promises to bring a little taste of East London to this corner of Dublin. No booking required, walk in only from 6pm. www.notedublin.com

Food by Sally Anne at Home
One of Dublin’s foremost caterers, Food by Sally Anne has all your Valentine’s feasting needs wrapped up, with no need to lift a finger (except perhaps to open the wine). Sally Ann’s Valentine’s Box for Two features a celebratory cocktail to start, followed by sharing starters, a choice of mains, indulgent dessert and petits fours. The box is priced at €120 for two and both delivery and collection are available. www.sallyann.ie

Tartare Café + Wine Bar, Galway

Valentine’s Box from Saltwater Grocery, Terenure
Seafood dinners for two from Saltwater Grocery read like a lesson in extravagance and why not we say, it is a special occasion after all… Caviar, crab and scallop ravioli with langoustine cream, roasted monkfish and rhubarb and white chocolate panna cotta – a menu like this could very well make me fall in love (with food) all over again. There are also sushi kits, taco kits, bubbles and chocolates for those truly in the mood to celebrate. www.saltwatergrocery.ie
