Why year-round SPF is essential for Irish skin …
Solas Skin founder Amelia Slattery, pharmacist Ashley O’Dubhain and beauty journalist Simone Gannon discussed this being the first dedicated Irish SPF brand, born from Amelia’s own experience with sensitive, easily burned skin. Her “No Days Off” mission is to make Irish-made sun protection accessible to everyone, and not just seasonally. Ashley pointed out; “Per the national cancer registry report, over 11,000 diagnoses per year makes skin cancer the most common cancer in Ireland. According to data from St James’ Hospital, Ireland ranks ninth in the world for melanoma diagnoses.”
Guests including Johanna Dooley, Dr Sinead Ryan, Adam Smyth and Kwanele Nomoyi got an exclusive first look at Solas Sun SPF 50 Hydrating Face Cream, SPF 30 Hydrating Face Mist and Solas Kiss SPF 50 Lip Balm, with Solas Spritz SPF 50 launching in June.
