Róisín Lafferty Selects Her Favourite Lots From Adam’s Auction

The Irish interior designer’s curated lot …

One way to update your wardrobe for autumn is to layer accessories and add jewellery. Fortunately, Adam’s Auctioneers Fine Jewellery Auction on September 9 offers plenty of scope for investment pieces. “We’re thrilled to have two more Kashmir sapphires for auction,” says Claire-Laurence Mestrallet, Director of the Jewellery Department. “It confirms our leading position on the Irish auction market and gives us a great visibility internationally. Additionally, having interior designer Róisín Lafferty collaborate by selecting her favourite pieces, with a photoshoot in her gallery, gave the catalogue a great synergy between jewellery, art and design. I found it very interesting, yet no surprise, that she leaned towards pieces of sculptural, sleek and bold forms which suit both her personality and profession. These are statement pieces while being easy to wear, which is what many women look for.”

Some of Róisín’s favourite lots include …

Lot 104: Emerald and Diamond Ring, by Bulgari (estimate €18,000-€22,000). Lot 186: Emerald and Diamond Earclips, by David Webb (estimate €15,000- €20,000).

The bulbous shape of the ring and the colour of the emerald is just stunning, while the old world charm of these earrings is captivating and so beautiful.

Lot 170: 18K Gold and Amethyst Ring, by Roland Schad, circa 1970 (stimate €2,000-€3,000).

Bold, impactful and artistic – this makes such a statement, both in form and colour.

Lot 196: 18K Gold and diamond Ring, by Tournaire (estimate €2,000-€3,000).

The minute architectural detailing of this ring is so pretty.

Lot 217: Rock Crystal, Emerald 7 Diamond Ring (estimate €2,000-€3,000).

The uniqueness of the shape and the angle here is what catches the eye. Understated, yet playful, at the same time.

Lot 76: 28.46cts Star Sapphire Ring – Sri Lankan, not treated (estimate €15,000-€20,000).

This ring takes me back to my childhood, especially the film ‘My Girl’ and her mood ring. I was instantly drawn to the shape, colour and detail.

Lot 129: 18K Gold Ring, by De Grisogono (estimate €2,500-3,500). Lot 88: Retro Gold Bracelet, Italian, Circa 1950 (estimate €4,500-€5,500).

Sculptural and delicately detailed.

Lot 90: Citrine Bracelet or Necklace, by Pomellato, Circa 1968 (estimate €20,000-€30,000).

The shape and scale is wonderful, as is the dual function. The amber tone of the citrine is so complimentary on the skin too.

Lot 122: Vhernier & with 124 matching ring (estimate €2,500-€3,500).

Reminiscent of the Bottega Veneta intraciato, this fashion cuff is elegant and stunning.

Lot 92: 18K Gold Tubogas Bracelet, by Weingrill for Bulgari – Circa 1975-80 (estimate €18,000-€22,000).

Lot 92 with lot 160: Tourmaline & Diamond Ring, by Bulgari (estimate €12,000-€18,000).

Jade Bead Necklace (estimate €8,000-€12,000).

Diamond ‘Disco Ball’ Chain Necklace, by Cartier (estimate €6,000-€8,000).

Diamond ‘Disco Ball’ Chain Necklace, by Cartier (estimate €6,000-€8,000).

Lot 77: 18K Gold Baignoire watch, by Cartier (estimate €4,000-6,000). Lot 78: Coral, Diamond and Onyx Earclips, by Bulgari (estimate €6,000-7,000).
