Rioja Wine Ireland is looking for lovers of wine, food and travel to form an exclusive collective of unofficial ambassadors – the Rioja Mates – who will use their social media channels to educate and engage their followers on Spain’s finest wine region.
Successful Rioja Mates will get to embark on a Rioja wine odyssey – receiving wine shipments, free education on Rioja and invitations to exclusive events that will inspire engaging social media posts via Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
Rioja Mates will be invited to explore the diversity of Rioja wine styles and share their favourites to their online community with inspired food pairings and spectacular scene setting.
Tell your followers about your favourite Rioja wine pairings, from fresh summer salads and crisp Rioja whites to delicious shellfish and rosados or even a succulent steak teamed with a Rioja Reserva. Help Rioja Wine Ireland share the Rioja story – pour yourself a glass and share your experience with your followers across your social channels.
The two best-performing Rioja Mates will be whisked away on a trip to Rioja’s stunning wine region joined by the Rioja Mates selected from other countries around the world. This trip will be an immersive experience into the heart of the region as you’ll be tasting with the makers behind the bottles, strolling through vineyards and seeing the work behind the scenes in the wineries.

Situated just over an hour south of Bilbao, Rioja is one of the leading fine wine regions in the world. With almost 600 wineries and 15,000 vine growers, Rioja’s roots run deep and the region produces a huge diversity of styles – everything from light and crisp whites, to berry bright rosados to bold and full-bodied reds with some excellent sparkling wines thrown in for good measure.
