We all have our favourite Jo Malone London scents, and English Pear & Freesia has long been one of mine. It’s so fresh, springlike and pretty, an instant breeze of positivity and optimism.
This month, Jo Malone London is going big on pear notes – and they have just announced Georgia May and Lizzy Jagger as brand ambassadors for the English Pear collection. Talk about good genes. Georgia May Jagger began modelling at a young age, featuring in campaigns for global beauty and fashion brands. She has her own beauty line, co-owns hair dye brand Bleach London and is the Wellbeing Ambassador for the British Beauty Council. Lizzy Jagger has been modelling since first appearing on the catwalk in 1998. She is an advocate for women’s rights and worked on the award-winning documentary Equal Means Equal with Kamala Lopez.
HOW TO WEAR IT
English Pear & Freesia is a classic blend of ripe pear with freesia and patchouli, first launched in 2010 – the original perfumer was the brilliant Christine Nagel, now the inhouse perfumer at Hermès. The scent conjures a golden, sunlit orchard. “I love it because it’s classic and elegant. I feel I can reach for it every day and wear it anywhere. It’s really timeless,” says Georgia May. New in the range is the special edition Hand Cream (€28) and Hair Mist (€46). English Pear & Freesia Cologne starts from €65 (30ml).
English Pear & Sweet Pea Cologne, first launched in 2023, riffs on that ripe pear top note, blending it with the loveliest summer flower, sweet pea, and white musk. “I can’t help but smile when I wear English Pear & Sweet Pea. It’s playful, subtle, and instantly makes my day better,” says Lizzy. The Cologne starts from €65 (30ml); there’s a special edition hand cream and hair mist in this fragrance too.
