The Summer Denim Trends THE GLOSS Editors Love (Plus, How To Wear Them)

Holiday purchases might be at the top of your wish list right now, but denim still deserves some airtime (after all, we live in Ireland). Plus, Sienna Miller wearing double denim at Glastonbury has revived our love of true blue fabrics. What’s trending now? Shorts, naturally. If the idea of denim cut-offs doesn’t appeal you can take comfort in the fact that relaxed, boyfriend shapes and Bermuda styles are trending right now. Pair yours with a floaty blouse for a masculine-feminine play. Likewise, linen waistcoats make a great partner for summer’s cropped jeans that cut just above the ankle (preferably with a frayed hem). If straight-leg styles are more your thing, make sure to wear yours with ballet flats (Arket’s gold ballet pumps, see below, are re-stocked and a surefire hit of the season). If you’re doing summer in the city, look to lightweight chambray cotton that has a look of denim but is a more breathable fabric – perfect for when the mercury rises.
