Not that you need to prescribe to any rules, but the general consensus is that once summer is over there’s a free-for-all on sparkles, metallics, feathers; any kind of frippery, to be honest. If you’re hesitant about going all out too soon, temper sequins with casual pieces – jeans, knitwear, chunky loafers. That way, in December you will have carte blanche to go big (plus, this means you can recycle your sequinned pieces in multiple ways: always a win).
