Have we finally reached peak oversized? Perhaps. The latest trend in blazers suggests something more refined is coming down the line. While boxy double-breasted blazers will always be popular there is a strain of fitted blazers coming to the fore that celebrate the waist rather than hide it, with a sleek tailored silhouette that nods to Christian Dior’s New Look. It’s an antidote to the XXL shoulders and swimmingly dramatic shapes that have dominated the last few seasons. Perhaps, a welcome one too. The accompanying trousers are slimline and flattering, with a subtle kick flare. Plus, there’s a waistcoat to match should you really wish to commit.

Embracing co-ords might feel like a novelty, but spring’s tailored blazers mix strikingly well with jeans too. It’s the kind of high-luxury meets low-fi look that suggests an effortless kind of glamour.
