This is not a drill …
The cottage that served as inspiration for Christmas film The Holiday is available to rent on Airbnb from January. Honeysuckle Cottage was the inspiration for the design of Kate Winslet’s cosy Rosehill Cottage in the Nancy Meyers-directed movie. Location scouts visited the cottage in Holmbury St Mary, a village in Surrey, while researching the film, before recreating it in a London studio for production of the 2006 film. The three-bedroom cottage retains many of its original features, boasting a flagstone terrace, an AGA, a log burner and an inglenook fireplace. There’s also cosy armchairs and plenty of striking wooden beams, all hallmarks of the quintessential English countryside look. (Swoon-worthy countryside widowers, à la Jude Law’s character, book editor Graham Simpkins, regretfully, do not come with.) See more photos of the cottage below and find out more information on the rental here.
