From Jonathan Anderson’s triumphant Dior debut to Louise Trotter’s first Bottega Veneta collection, there are plenty of catwalk-inspired trends to take note of this season …
COBALT BLUE
Meet the highly saturated, Yves Klein–inspired cobalt blue. From Chanel’s Métiers d’art 2026 show for chic commuters to Lacoste’s vibrant, sporty inspired takes, this bold blue is the designer endorsed shade to know now. Go head-to-ankle in cobalt, grounding the look with soft white, sandy neutrals, or sleek black footwear for contrast.
BOOKISH CHARM
From Celine to Prada, designers embraced an intellectual approach to everyday fashion. At Celine, Michael Rider styled proper-not-prim basics with belts and agenda-style bags. Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons favoured uniform dressing with midi skirts, shirts and cardis. Get the look now in a midi skirt paired with a tweed blazer, loafers and socks.

SKIRT SEASON
Skirts made a powerful statement on runways. At Chanel, voluminous, ruffled maxi skirts were styled with crisp cotton and fluid silk shirts, while Tory Burch paired calf-length skirts with summer-weight knits. Elsewhere, Agnès B, Zimmermann and Dries Van Noten all leaned into the statement skirt moment. Let the skirt do the talking and keep the top pared back. Shoes are key – choose foot-hugging glove pumps or sleek, low-profile (and ballet style) sneakers.
LOW WAISTLINES
The waistline is making a dramatic descent. Low-waisted mid-length skirts (exaggerated by even lower-slung belts) and mid-rise tailored trousers are set to be a big trend this year. Your knit or blouse must be long enough to tuck in.
PIN PARTY
Blouses, coats, dresses and jackets were adorned with ribbons, pearls, and logo and vintage brooches, turning the runway into a masterclass in brooch styling. Cluster a few on hats, handbags or scarves, or pin one to a sweater to add shape and interest to a simple half-tucked jumper.
TRENCH COATS
Never not trending, a great trench coat makes transitional dressing something to look forward to. From Chanel and Michael Kors to Bottega Veneta and Dior, the SS26 runways delivered updated takes on the classic trench, each one grounded in tradition but with a modern twist. Wear them buttoned and belted.
LADYLIKE BAGS
A variety of interpretations of traditional top-handle bags merge the old with the new. A smart bag will make any ensemble feel put together.
