How To Recreate The Hair And Make-Up Looks From THE GLOSS GALA 2025

Get the looks from this year’s Look the Business fashion show at THE GLOSS GALA 2025, created by the expert Brown Sugar team …

At the glittering THE GLOSS GALA on November 4 2025, 30 models graced Ireland’s longest catwalk in the best fashion that Irish retail has to offer. The expert Brown Sugar hair and beauty teams outdid themselves, complementing the fabulous outfits with fresh, modern hair and make-up looks.

The make-up team led by Dearbhla Keenan, Sugarculture Make-up Manager, and the hair team led by Christian Shannon, Brown Sugar Artistic Director, were guided by each model’s individual style. Each of the models showed off the best version of their own hair, from Mary Dunne’s lustrous silver locks to Thalia Heffernan’s bouncing curls and Sarah Morrissey’s mermaid-like waves. It was a great reminder to embrace and celebrate our own natural hair type.

THE HAIR

As Christian Shannon explains; “For this year’s catwalk show we played on each model’s individual style. We steered away from uniformity and added some variation, deciding what’s going to suit them and their look. We kept each model’s hair groomed with a natural feel, swept off the face to open it up, and with natural textures.

“We started all of these looks with a base product such as Kérastase Elixir Serum and L’Oréal Tecni Art Pli worked into the hair before styling and finishing with a light product like Techni.Art Flex Waves to add texture. And to keep it all in place, we used Techni.Art Fix Anti-Frizz for long-lasting hold.”

THE MAKE-UP

Dearbhla kept the minimalist make-up look fresh, with models wearing a warm orange-toned red lip colour, adapted in accordance with skintone and maturity. “We prepped the skin with French pharmacy favourite Embryolisse Lait Concentrate and Poco Beauty Universal Glow. We used AYU Instant Undereye Concealer for colour-correction, while Nars Light Reflecting Foundation helped to create a luminous and even skintone. To add colour and luminosity to the skin, we used Cream Blush by Sculpted by Aimee high on the cheekbones. We used Hourglass Veil translucent powder to reduce shine on the T-zone. For eyes, we created a high shine using a cream eyeshadow applied all over the lid topped with a gloss finish. And to contrast the shimmering eyeshadow and skin, a matte red lip was the focal point, each one carefully chosen and mixed to complement each model’s skintone.”

We loved the way a brilliant red lip really pulled each look together – it reminded us that there’s a shade to suit every age, skintone and occasion.
