We asked glossy holidaymakers to tell us what (and where) is on their beachy Bucket Lists. From seeing glowing sea plankton in mosquito bay to snorkelling with turtles in Ecuador, to swimming with small reef sharks in south africa! Here six of our Glossy Holidaymakers SHARE THEIR dream destinations…

MOSQUITO BAY, PUERTO RICO
Ben Sun, Make-up artist. Lately, I’ve been dreaming of swimming at Mosquito Bay in Puerto Rico. What is so special about this place is that when you step on the sand or swim in the ocean in the dark, all the water around you glows with an iridescent blue light! It’s the ‘bioluminescence’ of sea plankton, and it is so cool. I think it would be such an amazing experience to just go for a dip at night and be surrounded by the sparkle of blue light. @bensunmakeup

GANSBAAI, SOUTH AFRICA
Carrie Neely, Founder, Art Loves Carrie. Over 20 years ago, I passed my PADI diving exam in open water in the Maldives at a manta ray feeding station – one of the best experiences of my life. I swam with some small reef sharks on the same trip and I can still remember the unbelievable thrill I felt. On my Bucket List – Gansbaai or Shark Alley in South Africa. Let me dive into the blue with the big boys and I will die a very happy woman. @artlovescarrie

SHANKHILL, DUBLIN
Orla Kiely, Designer. Living in a big city like London, I find I yearn for the coast more and more. My childhood was idyllic, growing up in South County Dublin with Shankhill beach in front and the mountains behind. That landscape is my comfort zone, where I can relax and blow the cobwebs away. My favourite thing when I’m in Ireland is going to our local beach early enough to see the sunrise: daylight appearing slowly, the deep blue colour of the sky lightening, cormorants sitting in the rocks, watching the world in all its beauty. I always enjoy a long brisk walk along the shoreline when the tide is out, breathing in the fresh sea air, stopping for a rest and a cup of coffee, listening to the sounds of crashing waves and gulls. I take equal pleasure and inspiration from a sunset but need to travel west for that. @orlakiely

THE BLASKET ISLANDS, CO KERRY
Hannah ní Mhaonaigh, Artist. This summer I would love to go to Trá Ban or White Beach on the Great Blasket Island. You can only get there by boat and in good weather you might catch a glimpse of dolphins, whales, seals and basking sharks. July is said to be the best time to go as you see puffins and other beautiful birds against the backdrop of a breathtaking landscape. I’d swim in the crystal water and visit the stone ruins, which are all that remains of a community evacuated in 1953. I’d bring a picnic to share with loved ones after swimming, relaxing and exploring. This is just one of my many Bucket List spots in Ireland; we have endless sources of ancient beauty, inspiration and adventure right on our doorstep. @hannah_ni_mhaonaigh

ORCABESSA, JAMAICA
Katy McGuinness, Writer and journalist. When I was in my 20s and lived in New York, it was easy to get to Jamaica for a quick fix of sun, sand and reggae. I haven’t been back in many years, but at the end of a long, grey Dublin winter, I find myself dreaming of jerk chicken and silly cocktails, wondering if the turquoise sea and seven-mile white sand beach at Negril are as I remember them. The cheap and cheerful guesthouse where I used to stay is long gone, but grown-up me likes the look of the Goldeneye Hotel at Oracabessa. I was never very interested in ganja, and now that I’m older and infinitely more sensible, I’ll steer clear of the magic mushrooms. @katymcguinness

GALÁPAGOS ISLANDS, ECUADOR
Rachel Hennessy, Owner, Happy Days Fashion Rental. One of my goals in life is to have a family and be able to take them to Tortuga Bay in the Galápagos Islands. I was fortunate enough to go there when I was travelling in South America in 2017 with a group of friends and to this day it is the most amazing place I have ever been. We hiked up to volcanoes, went snorkelling with turtles, saw humpback whales and jumped into the water just in time to catch sight of a manta ray … it was the holiday of a lifetime. In the evenings, we gathered at the local market and ate fresh lobster caught that day. Just thinking about it makes me want to start planning another trip. @happy.days.style
She is the queen of no makeup makeup and even manages to make a smokey eye look subtle. When everyone else was going for heavy contour and laminated eyebrows, she continued to promote enhancing your natural features with simple tricks and smart product placement. If you have seen any of her videos, you will notice how little product she actually uses. Even Victoria Beckham commented how surprised she was when she went to remove her makeup after a shoot with Lisa on how little product was applied.
