Held at Royal Cork Yacht Club, this event was in aid of the RNLI Crosshaven …
Last week was the Volvo Cork Week, which is always held at the Royal Cork Yacht Club in Crosshaven – the oldest yacht club in the world. Over 120 boats and 8,000 sailors and spectators descended on the harbour town to participate in and watch some thrilling races and maritime festivities. Volvo Cork Week 2024 is not just about the competition; it’s a celebration of coastal culture where sailors and spectators come together to share their passion for the sea.
The finale to this week was a glamorous Ladies Day Lunch, held at the Royal Cork Yacht Club which was attended by 190 guests. The event was hosted by Admiral Annamarie Fegan, the first female Admiral in the world, who is the co-chair of Volvo Cork Week.
Special guests included Volvo brand ambassadors, architect Dermot Bannon and interior designer Suzie McAdam. After a cocktail reception and luncheon, they spoke to guests about the latest home and holiday home trends and designs. Guests were also entertained by musician Phil Holbird and enjoyed an elegant fashion show. All this was in a very good cause – the RNLI Crosshaven, which is dedicated to saving lives at sea.
