The third annual Infinity Ball was held recently at the InterContinental Dublin, where over 400 guests gathered to raise funds for a more neurodiverse-friendly society in Ireland
Ireland rugby legend Brian O’Driscoll and his wife, actress Amy Huberman, TV personality Brian Ormond, author Pippa O’Connor, jockey Ruby Walsh, Leinster rugby coach Leo Cullen, former Westlife singer Mark Feehily and former Miss World, Rosanna Davison were among some 400 guests who attended the third annual Infinity Ball.
Hosted by Dairine Kennedy, of Neurodiversity Ireland, she explained that all proceeds from the ball and auction go towards establishing a permanent Sensory Centre in Dublin. The new centre will provide a range of services for neurodiverse children and their families, including occupational therapy, social connection, and speech and language support.
The centrepiece of the ball was an auction, led by Goffs’ auctioneer Nick Nugent, during which one-off items such as a private rugby training session with Leinster head coach Leo Cullen was on offer, as was rare Achtung Baby U2-signed vinyl records, a signed Lionel Messi football kit and a VIP trip to Royal Ascot.
The event also featured the announcement of Neurodiversity Ireland’s Inclusive Educator and Sportsperson Awards, presented by Lord Mayor James Geoghegan. This award went to Declan Clarke, Principal of Colaiste Rioga in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath, while the Sportsperson award went to Damaris Ayres of Newpark Sports Centre in Blackrock, Co Dublin.
