Guests enjoyed the launch of Avoca’s new AW26 collection at Kilmacanogue, Co Wicklow …
Welcomed by two Irish Wolfhounds, guests gathered recently at Avoca Kilmacanogue, Co Wicklow on the grounds of the former Jameson Estate, for a special preview of the new AW26 collection.
It couldn’t have been a more fitting backdrop, surrounded by nature on a beautiful autumnal morning. Guests enjoyed breakfast beneath Europe’s oldest Cypress tree where they were served a feast with pumpkin-infused canapés before the show began.
The show opened with music from Michelle Mason and BIIRD’s Aoife Kelly as models walked along a runway made from Avoca fabric, woven at the brand’s 300-year-old Wicklow Mill.
Styled by Catherine Condell, the collection explored heritage dressing, and included tailoring, outerwear, partywear with an inspiring hit of dopamine dressing. The highlight of the AW26 showcase was a collaboration between designer Thea Drislane, winner of the NCAD x Avoca competition, and The Galway Wool Co-op, with vibrant coats inspired by the Avoca River.
Embellished knitwear and gilets by Munthe were a highlight as were the faux fur and prints from FRNCH and the playful new collection from Barbour. Accessories also played a significant part, including Avoca’s colourful scarves and a touch of sparkle from bracelets by Irish brand Love Beth. Guests agreed it was an uplifting collection with plenty of inspiration for the party season ahead.
The AW26 collection reflects the dynamic year Avoca has enjoyed, as explained by Maoliosa Connell, Director of Marketing, Creative & Brand. “The show follows our recent success at Maison&Objet in Paris where we launched three in-house collections. There’s an energy and newness across everything we’re doing, from the new fashion brands we’re introducing to how we’re communicating with new audiences. This season brings even more momentum than ever and we are thrilled with the reaction so far.”
New brands to look out for include Joanne McNally’s Anxious Preoccupied accessories, MOS MOSH, Villagalo, and Christine Murphy’s Urban Aran knitwear.
