Asteroid City has a stellar cast and theme. Without giving too much away, the film takes place in a fictional American desert town circa 1955. The itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention (organised to bring together students and parents from across the country for fellowship and scholarly competition) is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events.

The stars inlude actors Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie, Matt Dillon and Jeff Goldblum among many others.

Guests who enjoyed the Irish premiere (and a chic martini reception) included broadcaster Brendan Courtney, singer-song writer Loah, fashion designer Lia Cowan, fashion stylist Aisling Farinella, jewellery designer Sarah Carroll Kelly and celebrity chef Adrian Martin. Other guests in attendance included interior designer Roisin Lafferty, fashion stylist Adam Walsh and accessories designers Aisling Kavanagh, Margaret O’Connor and Natasha Sherling along with Gill Henderson from Jill & Gill.

The film is currently in cinemas nationwide.
