Five of the Best Barbecue Kits to Order This Weekend

Pray for sun, plan for rain, that’s my motto. Either way, any one of these barbecue boxes will have you covered this weekend, whether you cook it outdoors or in the oven, they are still bound to be delicious. A first taste of summer for the bank holiday weekend.

The Seriously Smokin’ BBQ box from Luttrellstown Castle

This mouth-watering barbcue kit from Luttrelstown Castle is sure to impress and contains a host of goodies to feed a posse. Boneless Korean chicken thighs with sesame seeds and gochujang glaze, smoked frankfurter sausage, Irish flat iron steak with miso butter, Irish beef and duck fat burger and jumbo chicken wings. The kit also comes complete with a range of sides including a classic Caesar salad, heirloom tomato, watermelon and mint salad, roasted baby potatoes with chilli and lime butter, oxtail and chorizo mac and cheese, homemade focaccia and sourdough bread. Etto BBQ Feast

There is something seriously impressive about a whole fish cooked over fire and the Etto BBQ Feast is just that – impressive. Nibble your way through goodies such as Le Levain baguette, smoked almonds, Nocellara olives, a salumi selection and house pickles before moving on to whole sea bass stuffed with oyster mushroom, spinach and samphire with a lemon glaze and brochette of gambas and padrón peppers with chilli, white wine and garlic butter, finished with roasted fish bone sauce. There is a selection of salads on the side and dessert is orange posset, elderflower poached rhubarb and honeycomb. Feast at Home BBQ Box

Kildare-based Feast at Home have a selection of meal box options for the Bank Holiday weekend, and they are all equally decadent. The BBQ box for two or four people kicks off with carpaccio of galia melon with Prosciutto Di San Daniele (D.O.P), followed by a choice of either 24oz chargrilled tomahawk Irish Angus steak or Jacob’s ladder of Angus beef ribs with a ginger, lemon pepper and molasses sticky barbecue glaze followed by chicken skewers and twelve hour pork belly confit with a cumin, ginger and chilli rub and Pico de gallo. Sides include flame roasted sweet potato wedges and a selection of salads and to finish, a selection of desserts. There is also the option to add cocktails to your order. Fans of The Bombay Pantry will be delighted to hear that they have recently launched a summer barbecue box with a selection of skewered marinated meats, breads, dips and salads which feeds four-five people. Given the Indian tradition of cooking over fire, the BBQ Box is bound to work beautifully on your barbecue and is a very reasonable €55.
