Number 59 is Dublin’s latest luxury lodging on Camden Street in the south of the city …
The south city stretch of Camden Street and its environs is a bustling Dublin locale that is steeped in Irish social history and home to some of the most in demand bars and restaurants in the city, and now the latest addition to the street is a new luxury lodging.
At the helm of Number 59, Dublin’s newest boutique guesthouse, is Brazilian native, Debora Mariluche who, it seems, is perfectly placed for running the venture, given her background in hospitality, interior architecture, and project management. Number 59 is the perfect enterprise for Mariluche, fusing her passion for hosting with her love of interior design.
Her vision for the business was to create a luxurious and intimate guesthouse in the heart of the city, inspired by both her travels abroad and her appreciation for boutique hotels. Awash with influences stemming from nature, Mariluche’s design aesthetic is urbane and relaxed with nods to mid-century style, along with her extensive travel which has included stints in Marrakech, Bali, and of course, Brazil.
Mariluche explains, “We considered every detail, from the interior to the lighting and the music, but I know that hospitality and service matter most to people. I’m delighted to say we’ve got a team of amazing professionals who will go above and beyond to make our guests’ experience one to remember.”
The property is compact and intimate, with seven bedrooms resulting in a home from home feel where attention to detail and personal service is the USP. The delightful guests-only lounge is both visually pleasing and offers a welcome respite from the hum of Camden Street and the pop of colour in the reception area adds a sense of flamboyant fun to the aesthetic.
Bedroom interiors are minimalist in style with pleasing touches such as expansive windows that flood the rooms with light, plush marble en-suite bathrooms, hand-picked light fixtures and curated furnishings, including antique French wardrobes. Happily, original features such as ceiling roses and covings have been left intact. And did we mention the location? With Camden Street fast becoming the most gastronomic street in Dublin, wannabe bon vivants are well placed for an indulgent overnight in Dublin city centre. www.number59.ie.
