We want our clothes and accessories to work hard, for us and for the planet, to be produced sustainably, with minimal waste by ethical companies or community-driven initiatives. A percentage of the proceeds from Kate Spade’s On Purpose collection (see the handbags the models are carrying, above) helped fund a group of artisans who set up their own for-profit factory in Masora, Rwanda and supports women and girls’ empowerment programmes in the area – a community centre, a sports and learning centre, health clinic and yoga hub.
