Chanel’s new lipstick line, Rouge Coco Bloom, launches later this month. Bright juicy moisturising colour is very appealing right now, and there’s a springlike bounce in these colours. For Chanel’s autumn-winter 2021 ready-to-wear collection, unveiled in an exclusive film, the beauty look featured Rouge Coco Bloom No.116 Dream on lips, along with beautifully dark delineated eyes, pale nails (Chanel’s classic Ballerina) and skin finished with Ultra Le Teint foundation plus Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder – a lockdown wonder, making your face look sun-warmed when in reality it’s pretty tired and wan.

In the endless search to find a naturally flattering lip colour that looks effortless but still gives you a boost, this shade Dream could be the answer. A lifelong red lipstick wearer, I’m gravitating towards more low-key rose balms at the moment – red just feels a bit “all dressed up and nowhere to go” – and this particular shade is soft yet strong enough. While we may not have a Chanel MUA on hand to create this striking beauty look, we all have a black kohl knocking around, and this classic natural lip/dark eye combination feels darkly glamorous at all times of the year.
