Over beige? Try burgundy, says Aislinn Coffey …
This season, the fashion pack have declared burgundy the “new neutral”, along with its colour-wheel cousin, maroon. Less harsh than black, less intense than scarlet, cooler burgundy shades look best on those with pink, olive or ebony skin tones, while warmer burgundy shades (with more brown tones) are flattering to peachy or golden complexions. To ease in to the burgundy trend, try a leather handbag or a pair of block-heel Mary Jane shoes. Alternatively, wear burgundy head to toe or pair with warm taupe, beige, grey or black.
