This is the blue eyeliner we’re wearing now …
In spring, Chanel’s Denim beauty collection made us all want to wear blue on our eyes, even though the immediate image that comes to mind might be ABBA, or the foppish New Romantics in the eighties. It’s also Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra (beyond fabulous), and the colour of our favourite wardrobe staple. The Denim collection sold out so fast it took even Chanel by surprise. And no wonder. It offered a fresh, fun way to wear make-up – even if you tend to swerve colourful clothes, and prefer minimal make-up, a dash of blue on the eyes can be uplifting, surprising, lighthearted.
With that in mind, we’re embracing Victoria Beckham Beauty‘s latest Kajal Eyeliner is Navy Noir Pavé, a rich navy with silver and sapphire sparkle that landed on August 5, €39. She launched a matte midtone denim eyeliner, Jeans, back in January 2025, and there’s also Navy Noir, a rich matte navy, one of the original shades. The tagline for these three alluring shades? “Blues that always fit”. Is the implication that sometimes your jeans don’t?!
There are also blue accessories: at VB online, there’s a limited-edition Portofino collection featuring expensive playing cards and an online-only travel size of Beckham’s bestselling scent (€65), created by Jerome Epinette. Check out this elegant summery gown (€165), made from Tencel, a plant-derived manmade fibre that’s light and airy.
As always, Hildun’s eyeliners are a first port of call. Navy Nights Silk To Set Liner is €18 at Millies. Charlotte Tilbury’s Eye Colour Magic Liner Duo is matte blue on one end, metallic on the other, so perfect for experimenting.
Finally, if you’re up for trying some blue mascara with your liner, remember this Wrap Party tubing mascara by RUM (€25).
Blue for eyes, then. Not new, but maybe something you’ve not tried in a while. And such an easy way to refresh your summer make-up. Forever in blue jeans …
