A Glossy Lineup For A Super Weekend In Dublin

From festivals for foodies to events for Formula One fans – here is how to make this weekend in Dublin a great one….

To experience: Super Car Weekend at Dundrum Town Centre, August 24 -25

Formula One fans – start your engines. Super Car Weekend is returning to Dundrum Town Centre this weekend – August Saturday 24 and Sunday 25. The event will take place from 10am -5pm in the Red Car Park on Level 1 at Dundrum Town Centre.

Considering taking a look? Visitors can expect to see over 100 high-end prestigious vehicles including the iconic Aston Martin DB5, which was of course James Bond’s car of choice. Also on display will be the world-class McLaren Senna which is worth €2 million. This limited-edition ‘hyper car’ was inspired by McLaren’s greatest driver and F1 icon Ayrton Senna. Important to mention, a Ferrarri F430, a 10 Porsche and three of Bentley’s newest models will also be on display.

This year, Dundrum Town Centre is shining a light on women in motorsport with several exclusive panel discussions with female race car drivers including Nicole Drought, Kelsey Kirby and Laura Hannon and hosted by former race car driver Leo Nulty. They will be discussing the unique challenges that they face as women in the sport but also will highlight the success of Irish women in motorsport and the future of motorsport in Ireland. The panel discussions will take place from 1pm on Saturday and Sunday in the red car park.

To visit: The Big Grill, Herbert Park, Ballsbridge August 22-25

Already underway, The Big Grill is Europe’s biggest barbecue and food festival and you would believe it. Gathered in Herbert Park are the very best Irish and international chefs, restaurants and barbecue experts as they celebrate and share their delicious produce, skilful techniques and the art and magic of cooking over live fire. To take the family: The Dalkey Lobster Festival, August 24-25

The renowned lobster festival is set to return to the picturesque Dalkey. It is guaranteed to be a weekend of culinary excellence, live music, street entertainment, and artisan exhibits. It will be a great day out before the children go back to school – plus the perfect opportunity for them to try the very best of lobster. There will be cooking demonstrations from Romain Tessier, also known as the ‘Arty Baker’, the dynamic of chef Arun Kapil (famed for his innovative spice blends at Green Saffron) and Leinster and Ireland rugby player Fergus McFadden. Also speaking will be the RNLI to discuss their important work and Newstalk’s Ciara Kelly and broadcaster Eoin McGee will drop some financial tips as they whip up two lobster dishes – and that’s just on Saturday.
