From nutty new scents to sensitive skin sun screen …
New notes
Shake up your daily scent: how about some nut-centred notes, such as almond? More intriguing still is DS & Durga’s Pistachio perfume, pictured here, which has been a huge indie hit, with its vibrant green warmth. It’s just that bit different. www.dsanddurga.com. Try a selection of Durga’s other scents, from Rose Atlantic to Radio Bombay, at Brown Thomas.
If you’d rather stick with a light floral, we love the idea of Jo Malone London’s English Pear & Sweet Pea Cologne – sounds so pretty and nostalgia, somehow (from €64, at Brown Thomas).

Don’t forget the UV
Remember your sunscreen, whether or not the sun stays out this week. I’m using IMAGE Prevention+ Tinted Sun Serum SPF30, which looks and feels very light on your skin. Janna Ronert, founder and CEO of Image Skincare, uses it on her hands, too: “I keep one in my purse to reapply during the day.” Don’t forget to protect your neck and chest area. www.imageskincare.ie
Try also Irish-made Elave, who do various SPFs that are ideal for sensitive skin, including this SPF30, €14.95; at pharmacies and www.elaveskincare.com. I know several GLOSS readers who swear by this.

Here comes the sun …
If it’s raining, I feel that Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian-style body care (actually made in the US) is the very thing – it’s so sunny and cheering. Pure joy, in fact. The original Bum Bum Cream, from €21 (apparently pronounced “boom boom”, which is news to me!), has a fabulously gourmand scent, sweet and warm, while the Brazilian Crush Pistachio & Salted Caramel perfume mist spray, from €22, makes you want to lick your own skin. This sunshiney yellow brand (actually sister brand to L’Occitane) is simply hugely uplifting and vibrant. I will be digging these out in the depths of January … At Planet Beauty, Brown Thomas, Clarendon Street and www.brownthomas.com.

Quick pick-me-up
Clarins’ latest launch, Tinted Oleo-Serum, is a quick, light way to even out your skin in an instant. €39 at Clarins counters, Clarins Boutique & Spa on Wicklow Street, Dublin 2, and www.clarins.ie.
