Straight-leg jeans and a sequin turtleneck is the perfect low-effort, high-impact kind of outfit we love this time of year. Choose a black or blue kitten heel to finish off the look.
If sequins aren’t your thing but you’re looking for a striking top, opt for something that’s high necked at the front with a cut out or scooped neck at the back. As a rule of thumb, the lighter the colour of your top, the darker the hue of your jeans, however mid-blue washes, like these Levi’s as seen on Lucy Williams, work with most colours.
A dramatic pleated top in white pairs wonderfully with cropped wide leg jeans which stop just short of the ankle. Wear with mules or slingback heels for optimum comfort: the low heel contrasts nicely with the structure of the top.
If you’re going for something classic like denim and a long-sleeved blouse, opt for jeans with a difference. A paper-bag waist, or a cinched belt, creates a flattering silhouette. Choose a blouse or shirt with pretty details on the cuffs.
Play with contrasts and wear a feminine puff-sleeve top with straight-leg jeans that boast a loose fit. Finish with an on-trend micro bag in a croissant shape and the shoes of the season, a pair of loafers.
