The perfect time to catch up on these series before the new season arrives …

Platonic on Apple TV | August 6
The besties are back! More than a year after it was announced that Platonic was renewed for season two, the trailer has finally dropped. Binge the first two episodes on premiere day, with one episode released every Wednesday until October 1. We’re happy to see Seth Rogen back on our screens after his hit show, The Studio, as he reunites with our another of our favourites, Rose Byrne. They originally starred together in the raucous film Neighbours (not to be confused with the infinitely running Australian TV series), the 2014 movie where they played husband and wife, while in this series they play estranged best friends who rekindle their friendship in midlife. Of course, there was the usual “will they, won’t they?” undertones in the first season as many viewers want to see them couple up, but writer and director Nicholas Stoller (who, incidentally, wrote and directed Neighbours) said not to expect a romantic storyline as they insist the show will stay true to its name. Only time will tell …

Love Is Blind: UK on Netflix | August 13
Following hot on the heels of the hugely successful US original, the first season of Love Is Blind: UK proved to be a smash last summer as a three-week event hosted by relatable partners IRL, Emma and Matt Willis. The unscripted dating experiment series sees British and Irish singles who want to be loved for who they are – not what they look like – get engaged in “pods” before finally meeting face to face. We get to watch the reverse dating approach as the newly engaged couples move in together and find out if their physical connection matches their emotional bond, before deciding if they’ll say “I do” at the altar. This could fill the Love Island hole in your heart, with hopefuls who might actually be looking for love and not more likes or followers on social. Cynical, us?!

Limitless: Live Better Now on Disney+ | August 15
If light and fluffy isn’t your speed, then perhaps extreme health and wellness will appeal. Australian actor Chris Hemsworth is put through his paces in the second season of Limitless, a hardcore docu-series that follows the fitness fanatic as he tests himself in extreme conditions. Chris takes on three challenges to explore science-backed ways to improve wellbeing, from climbing a 600-foot cliff in the Swiss Alps in winter to traveling to South Korea to learn Buddhist traditions and martial arts to prepare for Special Forces training involving frozen lakes, pepper spray and electrocution, then taking up drumming to play with Ed Sheeran in front of 70,000 fans. Only Thor would willingly sign up for this!

The Morning Show on Apple TV | September 17
We can’t wait for the fourth season of the award-winning drama, starring and executive produced by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, with ten episodes out weekly until November 19. The highly anticipated new season sees returning actors Steve Carell, Jon Hamm and Emmy Award winner Billy Crudup (husband to Naomi Watts, who we loved in Lena Dunham’s new show, Too Much) with new familiar faces including Academy Award winners Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons. We highly recommend you catch up on the first three seasons if you haven’t alrleady – you won’t be disappointed.
