Who Are The Designers Behind Adele’s Ravishing Comeback Wardrobe?

The roster of wow black dresses worn by the singer has been eye-wateringly good …

In a much needed break from dismal Covid-19 headlines, it seems the entire planet was glued to ITV’s An Audience with Adele last night. The 33-year-old looked every bit the Hollywood starlet in a sparkling, bespoke dress made by designer Nicolas Ghesquière at Louis Vuitton.

Adele’s roster of black dresses has been pretty impressive thus far. On Saturday, she performed at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes wearing a Dior Haute Couture draped mesh dress with black guipure appliqués from the label’s autumn winter 2021-2022 collection.

Just last week, the singer dazzled in a custom Schiaparelli dress, designed by creative director Daniel Roseberry for the heritage French maison, for a CBS special Adele One Night Only. The coordinating statement earrings were a real talking point, too. (See the Instagram post below from Adele’s stylist Jamie Mizrahi.)

We’re kind of used to the singer setting trends at this stage. In the seven days following Adele’s British Vogue November cover – in which she wowed in Vivienne Westwood corsetry – fashion index Lyst recorded a 73 per cent rise in searches for the designer’s corsets week-on-week.

There was also a similar look back in September, also by Schiaparelli – a monochrome dress with a dramatic shoulder and a freshwater pearl power earring to finish. We’ve always waxed lyrical about the LBD – or in this case the WBD: the ‘wow black dress’ – but, much like everything the singer seems to touch, Adele gives it a renewed verve.
