At this stage it’s going out out out …
Whether it’s drinks with friends, a fancy dinner or a little Christmas get-together, you could say we all need to brush up on what to wear going out. Here’s a little recap via some of our favourite brands.

For the romantic in you: Rodarte
The memo: sequins are always a good idea and a strong V-neck works on both small and fuller busts. Lastly, step away from the bottle of fake tan (go with a skin enhancing illuminator if you feel too bare). Pale is interesting – and beautiful.
For the tomboy: Self-Portrait
The memo: a louche cardigan is completely acceptable for after-dark dressing. (Just make sure it’s lurex and metallic.) Pair it with slim-fit cigarette pants and a devil-may-care attitude.
For grown-up glamour: Roksanda
The memo: silk is the most indulgent fabric if you want to go all-out, a bold colour can lift any outfit (or underwhelming bar/beer garden situation). Plus, if the spirit takes you to trial a floor-length train then why the hell not, we say.
For understated drama: Ulla Johnson
The memo: a light dress may not scream ‘after-dark glamour’ but we love how Ulla Johnson’s shell-coloured satin plissé number packs punch with intricate shoulder details, a finely-executed cuff and an ultra-wearable mid-calf length. The beauty (and the compliments) are all in the detail.
