A LANDMARK IN SOUTH DUBLIN
Frascati Centre is celebrating 40 years in the heart of Blackrock. The much-loved Roches Stores opened on the site in 1983, a classic department store, with drapery, homewares and a cafe, quickly becoming a landmark spot for south Dublin shoppers. Frascati Centre was subsequently redeveloped into a magnificent, modern and contemporary retail and lifestyle centre. Now the Centre has over 40 stores, some 85 per cent of which are Irish-owned. Many stores employ the original, wonderful staff who first served in Roches Stores and many current customers have been shopping at Frascati since the early days.

The fashion and footwear stores at Frascati are long established, successful family-run business, all started by the trailblazers of the Irish fashion industry. Latest additions include Swan Clothing for men, Trespass for outdoor apparel and Lorraine Keane’s sustainable Fashion Relief pre-loved fashion boutique, which will announce a new Irish women’s charity partner in the coming weeks. Fashion Relief is a true treasure trove for lovers of designer labels: a weekly visit is a must, to catch the interesting pieces as they drop.

A SMART PLACE TO SHOP – AND LIVE
In 2015, investment firm Invesco recognised the potential for redevelopment of the retail space on its surrounding seven acres of land. Invesco purchased the site from the Roche family in 2015, which led to the re-design, upgrade and rebrand of Frascati Centre in 2018. Frascati is the first large retail centre to develop its rooftop into prestigious own-door, dual-aspect residential units. Some 45 apartments, (a further 38 will be built in 2024) provide stylish, high-end living.
#FRASCATI40 – A WEEKEND OF FAMILY FUN & FESTIVAL
With much to celebrate, the Frascati family will come together this weekend to begin a big, month-long birthday bash. No, it’s not just a one-day affair: Frascati has a month-long plan of activity which includes a great line-up of children’s entertainment on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10.
This will include activities for small and bigger kids, from Rhymetime and face-painting to science and magic shows, to music and dance sessions, balloon modelling and glitter tattoos. The little ones can also meet their heroes – Percy Pig and Barney.
GNC health and wellbeing store will host its official opening next weekend and will be running Spin the Wheel prize giveaways and sampling on the mall outside its store.
THE GRAND PRIZE DRAW
The Grand Prize Draw – enter in the Centre – will run from Thursday 7 – Sunday 10. There will be 50,000 tickets distributed to customers who make a purchase at all tills in all stores. There are 100 prizes: the winning tickets will be drawn on Sunday evening and 100 lucky winners will be listed on the Frascati website, at www.frascaticentre.ie from Monday morning.
