Something bright and colourful is much needed to start this week – and when art meets beauty it can be fabulously uplifting. We’re cheered by these two attention-grabbing collaborations.
First, Elizabeth Arden has paired up with Italian illustrator Olimpia Zagnoli, who has previously worked with brands like The New Yorker, illy and Prada, for a limited edition collaboration: the classic Skin Protectant (€34) is now in this bright, graphic packaging.
The artist describes it as reinterpreting a classic. “For someone who works with symbols everyday it is like having the chance to transform the Eiffel Tower of beauty.” And the twist-up Lip Protectant will be available in this design from next month. It’s a good excuse to top up on these daily essentials (8 Hour Cream was originally created in 1930 by Ms. Arden herself) – in these cold months, we’re using it on lips, cuticles and to give skin a gleam more than ever.
We never quite bought in to the whole adult colouring trend, but Paris-based brand OMY does make us want to grab the nearest Sharpie. A graphic design company that creates bright and beautiful stationery and illustration, OMY has previously worked with Sephora, Lacoste and even McDonalds; check out www.omy-maison.com to see their childlike cheerful colouring walls – their High Line colouring poster is a highlight and reminds us of the big colouring poster sets we used to do as kids. L’Occitane has paired with OMY to create this delightfully cute Shea Butter collection.
From Shea Butter hand cream to the Ultra Rich Body Cream (€39) – one of the most luxurious body creams money can buy in our opinion – this is a limited-edition collection worth snapping up. As part of the collection, there’s also a limited-edition hand cream and body cream that smell of violets. For today only (Monday January 13), spend over €70 and get a free Shea Beauty Collection worth over €30, all in a cute OMY bag complete with Sharpie pen.
