A look inside the designer’s holidays …
It’s been quite a year for designer Tommy Hilfiger. He picked up a Visionary Award, presented by the National Retail Federation, in January and a further Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2025 Footwear News Achievement Awards, a testament to his enduring global influence over 40 years. Accepting the award he said,“I’ve been able to stay in the cusp of pop culture. And what I always thought was that if I were to stay connected to pop culture and stay connected to fashion, art, music, entertainment and sports it would power the brand.”
This year he also published Hilfiger Homes with his wife Dee in partnership with Vendome Press – which offers an intimate look inside their most distinctive residences. From a retro-glam 1970s Miami escape to a Greenwich manor and a breathtaking Mustique retreat, each home reflects their signature blend of fashion, interiors and lifestyle, where classic design meets bold, personal expression.
In this exclusive for THE GLOSS, we asked how and where he is spending the holidays. “We love to ski, but our most cherished tradition is spending time together in Mustique over the holidays. We’ve spent many New Year’s Eves there as a family, and it has become a place we associate with rest, swimming, and reconnecting. In recent years we’ve started switching things up a bit, exploring different destinations, but Mustique will always feel like home during the holidays.”
Dee says, “One of our favourite holiday traditions is building gingerbread houses together every Christmas. Everyone creates their own design, and by the end they’re covered in candy and creativity – though admittedly, half of them get eaten before they’re finished. It’s always a fun and messy family competition.”
“We have fun with the details – tree themes and tablescapes change each year, but we always lean into a balance of festive nostalgia and classic elegance. Think warm candlelight, mixed metallics, and personal touches from collected ornaments gathered through years of travel.”
“One dish that’s non-negotiable on our holiday table is sweet potatoes with marshmallows – it’s practically dessert and always the biggest hit.”
