What is your current state of mind? I’m calm and focused. I find the two symbiotic – a sense of tranquillity is the key to keeping focused for me. What is your favourite occupation? I’m truly blessed to say my own. It’s been my dream job since I qualified and despite my role taking on many shapes and forms, my passion for skincare and helping people to feel empowered in their skin will always run through everything I do.

What is your design philosophy? Education but with a twist to engage and inspire. Why do you think “omtanke” (considerateness) is the new “hygge”? In a time of prolonged isolation and separation, I think small acts of kindness mean so much. The pandemic sparked a desire to check in on each other more and fostered a feeling of togetherness despite being physically apart. There’s a consideration for the other in our lifestyles and it makes each day that bit easier.

What is your most treasured possession? The photos of times that can’t be relived. My photo albums contain captured memories and will always be my most special belongings. What does thinking again mean to you? To stop, ask yourself why, reevaluate, and then proceed. What is the trait you admire in others? In my personal and professional life, I admire and respect those with self-awareness and accountability – especially when it proves most difficult. What is the trait you deplore in others? Self-righteousness. I believe that with hard work and perseverance you can achieve your goals, and that none of us is entitled to anything.

What is your greatest extravagance? The money spent on holidays. It’s money well spent in my eyes as the memories made are priceless. What is your favourite journey? Getting into the car with no time deadline to get to the destination. I love to explore the nooks and crannies of this island I call home. What is the quality you most admire in a car? Safety and comfort will always come first but I appreciate a sprinkle of style. Electric or diesel, solar or oil? Driving electric is the goal which I’m currently making a reality. It’s my responsibility to live more sustainably and I’m focused on transitioning toward that – at home and at work.

What values do you hold dear? Integrity, humility and the ability to be determined and resilient while always growing and pushing yourself to new heights. What is your motto, the words you live by or that mean a lot to you? There is always a way. By that I mean that nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it. How best do you like to enjoy nature and the outdoors? I love walks along Skerries beach which is local to me and sitting on my garden swing. I try to enjoy the outdoors come hail, rain, or shine – although preferably not hail!
