To The Manor Born

Enjoy exclusive use of the Manor House at Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort – perfect for a stylish family reunion or special celebration …

The elegant 18th-century Manor House at Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort is a rarity. Boasting a stunning setting – on the shores of the Blessington lakes in County Wicklow – within an estate dating back to the 12th century, the Manor House provides a private escape for families or groups of friends who want to indulge their Downton fantasies.

The good news is this grande dame is currently available for exclusive hire, having been sympathetically restored to bring it back to its former glory, while ensuring no modern luxuries have been omitted.

On the ground floor there are two elegant reception rooms and a library; think Italian marble fireplaces, cosy nooks for lounging and plenty of books, board games and arts and crafts materials to keep younger guests and kidults entertained. In addition, the stunning dining room can seat 14 people for dinner – so there is no need to visit the main hotel during the stay – private chefs are at your service, Afternoon Tea is a must-do. If you want to be serenaded over dinner – that’s no problem either. Musical entertainment can be arranged in the evening – at the Manor House every whim is fulfilled.

There are seven luxurious bedrooms with spacious ensuite bathrooms, all of which have been decorated in heritage colours and fabrics. Extra touches such as milk and cookies at turn down service ensure you’ll leave with plenty of special memories.

As for activities: archery, falconry or clay pigeon shooting can be arranged and golfers can enjoy preferential rates on the 18-hole championship course, or lessons with the club professional Tom O’Neil. Should you wish to go further afield, Russborough House, which is also home to the National Bird of Prey Centre, is nearby. Families might like to bring their bicycles to cycle on the Blessington Greenway, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.

The exclusive hire of the Manor House at Tulfarris includes bed and breakfast, private dining in the drawing room, a half a bottle of wine per person and a prosecco reception on arrival is from €3,010 per night.  For more details please call + 353 (0) 45 867600 or see www.tulfarrishotel.com.
