Tired of seeing the rails of unwanted fashion in the sales? Make a beeline for the beauty counters instead – there are some fine bargains to be had. We’ve trawled the discounts and found the standouts, so that you don’t have to:
Ayu have a few of their star items on sale, from the teacher gift set €25 (was €32.50) to foundations for a tenner (usually €35). I’m buying the Sara Lip Kit, with lipstick, pencil and gloss in brilliant red (€25, down from €32.50). Limited availability.
At Boots.ie there’s 20 per cent off Laura Mercier across the board – save on everything from the delicious Souffle Body Creams to eyelash curlers. Be quick! We also spotted an Isle of Paradise tan gift set for €36; the IoP Self-Tanning Drops (light, medium or dark) are reduced to €16.66, usually €24.99; find them reduced on lookfantastic.ie, too, at €15.95.
If you can cope with having Disney scrawled on your lipsticks, the set of three Morphe mattes are good value at €13.20 (was €22). Lots of reductions on supplements there, too, from probiotics to Swedish Nutra Biotin for hair and nails. The Dermaflash, for removing facial “peach fuzz” (four-week treatment) is down from an outrageous €199 to €133.33, at Arnotts.

At Brownthomas.com, we spotted the distinctive green bottles of Hermetica perfumes (100ml) cut to half-price, €75: these are great-quality scents, created by the team behind Memo Paris. You can also nab a bottle of Memo Paris Oriental Leather for €102.50 (was €205) – a perfect gift for a guy, too. Travel cases are also reduced – a good early Christmas present to stock up on, perhaps. There also seems to be a big clearance of Atelier Cologne scents – pick up Iris Rebelle eau de parfum (30ml) for €48 (was €60).
Other BT bargains: Ground Sleep Body Oil and Breath Bath Salts are both reduced, and the lovely gift sets are now €44 down from €55. We’re also stocking up on The Handmade Soap Company Grapefruit and May Chang body lotion (€12.80, was €16).
Look Fantastic has reductions on CeraVe, Kerastase, Kiehl’s and lots of other L’Oreal brands. Stock up on La Roche-Posay’s skin-brightening Pure Vitamin C10 Serum, €34.45 (was €42.95).
